The Bidding Process
All bidders must be at least 18 years of age.
When you place a bid on an auction item, you are entering into a legally binding contract to purchase the item if you are the winning bidder. You are the winning bidder if your bid is the highest bid at the close of the auction.
If you are the winning bidder, you agree to pay the full amount of your winning bid plus any applicable shipping or delivery charges.
When you place a bid on an auction item, you are agreeing to any specific terms and conditions imposed by the donor and included by the donor in the item’s description
Once you have placed and confirmed a bid, your bid cannot be retracted.
PAYMENTS shall be made online through the secure submission of credit card information at the time of registration. If payment is not received by Monday, April 9, 2018 the item will transfer to next highest bidder.
ALL SALES ARE FINAL! There will be no exchanges or refund of items by the donors except where specified. Items are NOT TRANSFERABLE.
RECEIVING WINNING ITEMS: Chattanooga area winners are recommended to pick up items at the McCallie School Development office on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 8:30 – 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., or Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Chattanooga area winners are responsible to pick up their winning items during the scheduled pick up times or to email Dominique Gable at email@example.com to make alternative arrangements. If an item is not picked up or arrangements made in advance by Friday, April 13, 2018, the item will go to the next highest bidder.
Out of town winner’s items will be shipped priority mail at winner’s expense beginning at $6.95 based on item size and weight. Shipping fees will be charged to winner’s credit card on file. Please note some items will indicate a local pick up only.
It is the winner’s responsibility to redeem and use the winning auction item by February 28, 2019 unless otherwise noted in the item description.
The withdrawal of items from the sale after they are listed may sometimes be necessary. McCallie reserves the right to do so at any time before or during the sale. McCallie reserves the right to reject any and all bids in its sole discretion.
McCallie cannot, and will not, be held responsible for any interruption in service, errors, and/or omissions, caused by any means and does not guarantee continual, uninterrupted or error free service of use of the site. Bidder acknowledges that this auction is conducted electronically and relies on hardware and software that may malfunction without warning. McCallie, in its sole discretion, may void any sale, temporarily suspend bidding and re-sell any items that were affected by any malfunction. The decision of McCallie is final.
As a bidder, you are responsible for any bids placed under your email address and password. The security of your bidder information is your sole responsibility. If at any time you feel that your email address and password have been compromised due to lack of security on your part, please notify McCallie immediately.
You agree that you will not use any device, software or routine to interfere or attempt to interfere with the proper working of the site or any activity being conducted on the site. You agree that you will not copy, reproduce, alter, modify, create derivative works, or publicly display any content from this site without prior, expressed written permission of McCallie.
Description of Items & Limitation of Liability
The descriptions of the items and services have been provided to McCallie by the donor. McCallie makes no representation express or implied regarding the items or services. Everything is sold “as is”. Purchasers are bound by the precise restrictions specified by the donors. The terms are not negotiable. Please read the specifications and limitations carefully as described on the auction website. By his or her purchase, the purchaser waives any claims for liability against McCallie or the donor of the property or service, nor is the donor responsible for any personal injuries or damages to property that may result from the utilization of property or services sold.
Value of Items
VALUES of the items are donors’ estimates and are not warranted by McCallie for tax purposes or general use. You are solely responsible for compliance with any federal, state or local tax laws governing your purchase. It is your responsibility to report and pay any applicable taxes. We suggest you consult a professional tax advisor.
MCCALLIE ONLY ITEMS ARE RESTRICTED ITEMS INDICATED BY THE MCCALLIE LOGO: There are a few items that are clearly marked with a McCallie logo. The donors of these items have requested the bidding be limited to the McCallie community: McCallie alumni, parents, grandparents, past parents, faculty, staff and Board of Trustees ONLY. These items are NOT TRANSFERABLE!
CONDOMINIUMS/VACATION HOMES CONDITIONS: Arrangements for use of a condominium/vacation home or other privately-owned property are subject to agreement between the donor and the winning bidder. Specifications in the brochure and/or on the auction site are those made by the donor. Any cleaning or amenities charges made by the Condo Association will be borne by the purchaser as such charges are variable. All condominium/vacation home purchases are NON-TRANSFERABLE.
